THE TEST

It's T minus one day before the end of Bush's supposed deadline for Saddam to leave Iraq or face war--and I still call bluff! First of all, Bush said that "an attack would commence at a time of our choosing"--not necessarily when the deadline is up. Second, the Congressional Black Caucus and a stream of other Senators and Representatives spoke before the House and critisized the war from legal and economic angles. Though congress has given Shrub the power to launch troops if and when there is an immediate threat to the country, many congress members are not convinced that we are in such a scenario. Also, congress NEVER gave Bush the power to declare a full scale war. If Saddam is smart, he will refrain from attacking first--since this would give Bush the perfect alibi with which to cajole congress into approving this war and its colossal budget. Bush is trying the best that he can to provoke Saddam into attaking first--THAT'S THE GAME PLAN. I hope to GOD that Iraqi officials realize this. Im afraid, however, that Bush will stretch things so far that Iraq's rulers will prove too fucking macho to pass this test. Already, an Iraqi was shot dead by U.S. forces.
